the blond girl character was supposed to be loosely based on an actual person whose father was a service man who abandoned the family and went back to America.
How was she really able to stay and work in Taiwan once she became an adult?
according to what I’ve read from the old spouse support network children were asked to leave if their fathers where not Taiwan citizens.
I think there are a few people left who did not get citizenship when it was granted to our children not too long ago because they were too old. What do you guys do to stay in this country…

NIA can issue ARC for peaople who have special circumstances verified by other government agencies commissioned by competent authorities, when they find it is appropriate. It seems HHR office can give nationality too.
