Blue Elephant Bangkok will be opening a central kitchen in Taipei in order to supply fresh Thai dishes in department store and supermarket counters around Taiwan.
There will be a daily choice of around 20 different dishes cooked the authentic Thai way.
The all thing should be running as from June. Watch out for the ‘Azian’ by Blue Elephant counters at Jason’s.
Of course if you prefer to cook yourself the Blue Elephant Grocery Line is still available and the number of items is growing.
Thanks to all Blue Elephant fans for your support.
Cooking shows with chefs from Bangkok will be organized again this year in June.
I spent the very last of my baht at the airport in Bangkok on a pack of the Blue Elephant green curry paste and man, it is SO good! You’d never guess it came from a packet. I was so happy to find some in the Anhe Rd Wellcome, along with tom yum paste and various salad dressings. I made some just last night, in fact.
What other curry pastes are in the range?
These things are fantastic to have in the house for a last-minute supper. A couple of chicken breasts, some coconut cream, fresh basil, a few mushrooms and tomatoes. Bish bash bosh. Done in 10 minutes. Almost as quick as making a tub of pao mian and about a million times tastier.
Does the Blue Elephant line have a masuman (spelling?) paste? The one with the cashews and potatoes? I LOVE that one.
Thank you for purchasing Blue Elephant products at Bangkok airport. We are really glad you love the green curry and yes indeed with Blue Elephant grocery line products it’s very simple to make a nice Thai dish within minutes.
We have a total of 5 curry pastes:
Green Curry (the most popular one in Taiwan)
Thom Yam (very good and easy to make the most popular of all Thai soups)
Tom Kha (NEW and made with the creamy Blue Elephant coconut cream really delicious) - make sure to use a coconut cream instead of a cheaper coconut milk -
Yellow Curry
Red Curry
Massaman Curry
Around 15 Wellcome stores in Taiwan sell the top items of the Blue Elephant line.
There are however a total of 32 different different Blue Elephant Grocery products. The all range of products is available in all Jason’s stores (Jason’s 101, TienMu, Banchiao, Hsinchu, Taichung and Kaohsiung.)
If you or anyone needs more information or like to receive recipes please just send us a mail and we will be happy to help you. peter@blueelephant.com.tw
Sorry that the website for Taiwan: www.blueelephant.com.tw is still not ready. It will be coming soon.

Great news Peter! This will be a boon to us time challenged Blue Elephant fans who love to cook but don’t always have the time/energy. Sandman notes though how you can do it will little difficulty. However, it is often nice to be able to just grab something for takeout and not worry about washing any dishes. Very much looking forward to it!
I have noticed with interest the expansion of the Blue Elephant Grocery Line this past year. Even more of a good thing.
More good news! I attended one last year and they are good fun.
Looking forward to an update when you have more details. Congratulations on your continuing success.
Any plans for a cooking show down here in Taichung or do we need to go up to the big city?
We just came back from another trip to Thailand last week. I haven’t tried any of the Blue Elephant products yet, but hearing the reviews makes me want to give them a try.
