Blues Bash 3

We’re 10 days from the biggest Blues event of the year - the Blues Bash!

BB3 will take place on the weekend of November 4, 5 at the Dream community in Xizhi.
Contrary to popular misconception, this is not on the far side of Outer Mongolia.

It’s a snap to get to on the MRT Blue(s) Line:
Go to the Kunyang station and catch the Blue(s)36 or the 817; get off at Hu Qian Jie.
You might also take the 247, 267, 51, or the 311 to the Beifong Li bus stop.
(Check out full direction on getting there at the Bash website www.bsot-bluesbash.info )

To prove that old saw that the ‘the early alkies get the brew’, the first 500 Blues-aholics at the Bash each day will get a free Budweiser. What better reason to roll out of bed at the crack of noon than the promise of a frosty King of Beers? I ask you…

But hold on…
This year, Capone’s is going to have their chefs preparing fresh Blues Bar-B-Q goodies like Blues Burgers, Blues Bratwursts, pizza and of course - Ribs! Vegetarians don’t despair. There will be scrumptious delectables for you, too, like mi-fen and fries. Yummy.

And to wash all of it down, your choice of Budweiser beer, Jack & Coke, Fanta, Sprite, Nestea and the ever-popular old stand-by, H20.

But that’s not all…
There will be lucky drawings for CDs, T-shirts and other dandy merchandise. And for that extra-special musician or fan, we’re going to raffle off a one-of-a-kind commemorative electric guitar; autographed by the BB3 performers.

But wait…
Performers, artists and artisans of the Dream Community will heighten the festive atmosphere with spontaneous acts of wit, creativity, skill and acumen. Stilt-walkers, puppeteers, magicians, dancers and yes…

There’s more…

There will be a VIP After Bash Party each night. The site of the party will be announced at the end of the music program. The After Bash parties will feature wild, balls-to-the wall performances by the BB3 headliners and locally-based Blues players rachetting it all up a notch to that mystical level of musical interaction called ‘The Jamm’. Players bring your ax and your ‘A’ game.

So come to BB3 ready to lose your Blues and get it on for a solid weekend of fun. It’s gonna be a real Wang-Dang-Doodle!

Unfortunately, Arrogant Bastard weren’t interested in sponsoring the event. It’ll be a Jack & Coke day for me, for sure.

I think it’s great that Bud is helping to sponsor this. I’m hoping I can make it up there. It’s been ages since I’ve seen any good blues.

That’s a copy and paste jobbie, there’s simply no way known Sandman thought of that one all by himself.

Another top gig I’ll have to miss, more’s the pity.

HG

I’ll be there.

please tell me that clown from last year isnt mc’ing again… please. he ruined the whole thing bringing a fine afternoon of blues into a sad taiwan style high pitched scream fest.

Yeah, I agree.

Yeah, I agree.[/quote]

Wasn’t he metrosexual?

I have no idea about that side of things. I can try to find out, though. But who exactly are we talking about? I wasn’t paying any attention to the MC last time – the last thing I need to see at a music event is some blowhard pontificating. I don’t think I even saw him. Bad, was it?

I recall a lengthy rave by many about this dude last year.

HG

Oh, right. The unfunny moron in the schoolgirl skirt. That was a strange thing, right enough. Let’s hope he’s not been hired this year then – the MC’s getting more stage time than any of the bands!

It’ll still be good, though, and even if the MC sucks, the music won’t – and don’t forget that unlike last year, when they were constrained from selling food by the Breeze Center management, this time there’ll be burgers and brats and stuff to take your mind off any bad comedy routines.

Well that’s handy. Mind you I hope the burgers and brats are good, for the MC’s sake.

The music was fuckin’ great last year.

Hey, that was me.
You guys are all pretty rude.
Trust me, it takes guts to get up and do stuff in front of people.
Sandman, if you’re so smart, why don’t you try getting up on stage?
I think if you did, you’d be alot more considarate about other’s feelings.
Jeez.

Are you kidding? NO WAY!

But you’re right – it must take guts to dress up as a transvestite schoolgirl in makeup. So why do it? What did that have to do with the blues, anyway? Just lose the makeup, wear some pants, tell some jokes and introduce the bands. People will thank you for it.

Snicker!

So Cole, are you getting on up this time?

I was supposed to, but now I’m having second thoughts.
I had no idea people wereso unhappy with my contribution last year.

I was going to wear my Elvis suit…
