Body armour ad--accurate?

I don’t have a clue, so I’m asking, is this ad accurate?

As of 10 years ago there was NO body armour that could stop a long rifle round, and it wasent suposed too. But things are improving. This armour could be real, and I would assume so, but very new. Now when I was in the army I never expected the newest and best gear (in 2000 I had an air matrices made in 1954!), but America might have different ideas.

We always joked that these wars were only ways to use up the old 'Nam era stuff to justify buying new stuff.
