The Taiwanese sent pics to China showing Bon Jovi had projected pics of the Dalai Lama during a show. China duly cancel his upcoming concerts and suddenly Taiwan gets an extra concert. Apparently Bon Jovi had been waiting to go and play in China for years. Even learnt a Chinese song specially.
Apparently, BJ cancelled the second show of his own accord. No matter what you think of his music, It seems obvious to assume that he’s rightfully pissed off. Add this to the list of reasons why nobody except Air Supply wants to play here. Haha.

That part is wrong. As soon as the govt called the typhoon day for all day, the promoter (Live Nation) was legally obligated to cancel the show. And that’s what happened.

Ree-hee-hee-eee-aaa-llly? The gov’t can’t get their stories straight about general food and water safety, but they’ve got a hawkeye on concert contingencies? I’m not asking you to show me the law, but man, solid fuckin’ chuckle first thing in the morning.[/quote]
It’s a large public event on a typhoon day. Of course it’s going to get cancelled. The same as any other public event in the past has been, and any more in the future will be. This is no different.

Good for the goose but not for the gander. Remember the application of the Law here is grey, selective and always with some motivation underneath. The law is written in such terminology to damn you if you do, and same if you don’t. Messing up a big “international concert” -foreigners! atogas! and all that implies- would be a great coup to some obscure official desperate to make his mark, make himself noticed and get a promotion. You can bet there will be an “investigation” after the cancellation, and promoters will be given a hard time by the authorities. Same if they hadn’t.
