Bondi Beach terrorist attack

A bit of a poor conflation here - try to see the big picture.

I’m sure all of us here want the violence to stop. The solution to that, or at least the right path to start taking toward achieving this lofty goal…is to realize what is fueling the extremism in the first place.

This involves thinking more than just reactively. It involves thinking objectively, unclouded by a persecution complex or a strikingly flawed human tiering system, where one assumes Arab lives matter less.

Ironic, since some of the online reaction to this tragedy makes me think the same about Jewish lives.

Were any Arabic lives lost on Bondi Beach? Follow up, do you know anything… have you read anything at all about the Jewish lives that were lost?

Do you think Muslim violence towards Jews is genocidal?

Genocidal intent? Yes, October 7th definitely qualifies. Over 1,200 slaughtered in one day. It would’ve been worse if they had the means.

Now, since I answered your question, want to answer mine?

Yes.

No. I know they were innocent victims of genocidal violence though. I’ve become so numbed to mass murder in recent years that I have little stomach for the details about its victims anymore.

That’s okay. I have the stomach. I’ll share it here. People can click it if they want.

Thank you for providing those details about the victims. It was distressing to read thru them but I did it because you made the effort to provide them.

A famous bakery in Sydney is closing its doors for… reasons. Unfortunately, Jewish businesses don’t feel safe there and it’s hard to blame them.

The assholes will chalk that up as a win. It’s what they do.

How would you propose they prevent antisemitism?

Yeah, you’ve got to wonder how much involvement the Israeli govt had in that. Why did it take 6 hours to respond? And why have a concert with 1000s of civilians right next to the border of an ongoing conflict?

I want to be careful and say that I’m not justifying antisemitism.

But right now as I’ve mentioned, Israel’s reputation is probably worse than Putin right now. And by extension that goes to Israelis and Jews. That sentiment is across almost all demographics besides probably conservatives over 40-45.

Why I’m said these attacks will sadly become more common is simply that it’s not just far left ideologies or Islamic extremism that’s taking on the negative sentiment.

I think governments don’t give a shit about their reputations. Look at current US, Russia, Israel, China, etc.

In their eyes, they got jobs to do, perception and pushback be damned
