Bones

The place where I used to go to get Gustav his bones no longer sells beef. I need to find a new supplier, preferably one that is still open for business after 12 noon (most traditional markets have packed up by then). I’m looking for big beef bones - the kind that can keep a big dog occupied for hours and hours. Can anyone help?

There is an old butcher shop that sells only beef up on Heping close to the intersection of Heping-Roosevelt… its on the south side of Heping just a bit east of Roosevelt Rd. I think they sell bones… or at least they should be able to get some for Gustav. The shop is sort of across the street (Heping) from where 45 is/was… That area…

If Gustav’s REALLY desperate, I have another suggestion, but it would cost you an arm and a leg.

Trudi’s an easier target! And she’s probably chewier.

I’ve been buying my beef bones there for a while now. The address is 14 Heping East Road Section 1, and they sell BIG bones. Gustav loves them! Their phone numbers are 2363-6451 and 2363-0018.

Something for the dog lovers to consider: too many bones do Fido’s teeth no good.

Dad’s a big softy and used to give the wolves a big bone almost every other day.
They ended up prematurely wearing down their teeth. :frowning:
Picture that: a great, huge wolf with no teeth, gumming the deer to death.
(Good thing we stake the deer out in the garden.)

What do wolves eat in the wild? Filet Mignon? Jello?

I heard that big pork thigh bones work just as well, but that the dogs will chew away the cartilage and leave the bone.

Ha! Shows what you know. They pick wild blueberries, obviously. sheesh.
(That, and they only last 3-5 years, there isn’t time enough for the damage to have a major effect.)

In the wild wolves’d be lucky to survive long enough to wear their teeth down. A five-year-old would be an old wolf, I think.

Edit: Damn you Jaboney and your presumptousness. Damn you to HELL!

nah-nah Sandman!
Bet that one had you sputtering so hard you left your dentures on the keyboard.
Say… :ponder:… want to make a donation to a worthy wolf?

btw, puppy-lovers, I’ve seen dried pigs ears for sale in Costco. Don’t last nearly so long as a good bone though.

Pork bones= Same nummy chewy factor.

Have 20 hounds that will attest to such being the case,
