On June 6 Professor Fabricio Martens, BJJ black belt Emanoel Moreira will arrive in Taipei. He will be conducting classes at Taiwan Evolution Combat Fabricio BJJ’s new location . We will have morning, afternoon and evening classes for beginners and advanced students . We will also have children’s classes
I really want to emphasize that no previous training is necessary .
Also classes will be open to any and all people regardless of present rank affiliation or level .
Classes will be 4000 NT$ for 1 month or 6000 NT$ for 2 months registration is 1000 NT$. Students can train in as many classes as they like per week as long as the class is at their level or below . MMA classes are also included in membership.
I will be posting information about our new location within in 3 days. I just want to iron out a few details with the landlord before I post. Right now I can say that the facility will be bigger and much better than my present club and it will be close to my present location.
The new location has around 40 pings of mat space and there will be a weight room and change room with lockers and shower facilities.
Emanoel is being sent over from Brazil by our head instructor Professor Fabricio Martens. He is the personal training partner of Daniel Otero (Mundial and BJJ world Champion)
And is highly regarded by my coach Stephen Kamphuis of Fabricio Philippines (4x Masters division BJJ world champion). Stephen trains regularly with him while in Brazil .
This is a great chance for all those that love BJJ to continue their education and to those who are new to BJJ to become involved with this exciting and rewarding art/sport.
I am highly tempted to get back into BJJ again now …
Also, huge congrats are in order for Gordon, as he has he just gained his BJJ purple belt - a very, very respectable rank in a sport that requires about 8 to 10 years of hard practice to get a black belt. Gordon is now the highest ranking BJJ resident in the country, and one of very few purple belts in Asia. :bravo:
Of course, he hasn’t fully tested himself until he’s rolled with me, though …
Thanks for the props stray dog . I was very honored to receive my grading by 2 such highly respected black belts . Stephen Kampius ( 4 x masters world champion) and Anthony Perosh .Anthony has over 300 students in Australia and is an Abu Dahbi and UFC Competitor and Pan Am bronze medilist.
The New club is on track . It’s just a matter of getting the place fitted out . We will not only cater to Martial arts but I will make it a “crossfit” and combat fitness center as well . I’ll be posting more about that later.
Vay and Stray dog , it will be great to see you both back on the mat .
First off, congrats for getting your purple belt. Second, is there an update on the new location and the BB coming to Taiwan? Is all of that still happening?
This sounds great so please keep us updated on the situation!
Yes , everything is still on Track .We have finished painting the new club and have all the stuff moved over and are just getting it set up now . I will lay the mats tomorrow .
The new address is 1st floor # 36 Wan Long Street . Its easy to get to and easy to find . Just go to Wan Long MRT stop exit # 1 and walk up ( Towards Hsin Tien ) the first street you get to is Wan Long Street. Turn right there and walk down 1 block and you are at the front door of the club .
Emanoel will land this Wednesday night and he will start teaching by Friday, I would say . Right now I will keep the schedule as it is written on my website . I will add more classes to that after Emanoel gets here.
Oops, I made a mistake in the directions to the new club in my last post . I said Just go to Wan Long MRT stop exit # 1 and walk up ( Towards Hsin Tien ) the
second
street you get to is Wan Long Street.
It should read the
first
street you get to is Wan Long Street.
Well, Emanoel was out tonight for his first class. It was great ! Emanoel really is a great guy and his Jui Jitsu is first rate. He is not a big guy at all so his style is very technical since he wont rely on body weight and strength too much . Today was sort of a get acquainted mixed advanced /beginners class . We worked some good takedown stuff and some arm drag combinations from open guard . He works well with the advanced guys and is very patient with the beginners .
Hey Taiwan Foot, just wanted to say I had a blast yesterday (my first day back to BJJ after a 2+ year hiatus). Emanoel is SMOOTH and super-mellow… I’m very excited to be back.
