AnimalsTaiwan were called yesterday to assist a young dog on YangMingShan who had been caught up in her chain for two days, unable to lie down, eat, drink, or get to shelter, but who was also aggressive to those trying to free her.
We calmed her down and untangled her chain, and she immediately showed her friendly side, allowing us to pet her, clean up her area, and take her for a walk - according to her neighbours, her first in more than a year.
She seems to be a spaniel of some kind, or at least a spaniel mix, and generally in good health aside from some problems related to poor nutrition and lack of exercise and stimulation.
She walks well on a leash, is friendly, and very happy in company. We think th eowner will let us take her. We hope there is someone out there who knows spaniels and who would like to free this one from her life of misery, please contact me today. 0920 620 109.
While assisting the spaniel, we found another chained dog, the owner of whom approached us to ask if we would like to take him.
Xiao Bai’s collar is too tight, and he has lost fur and has some irritation in that area, and we’ll be returning tomorrow to give him a collar that works better for him.
This injury should heal nicely once he is off the chain. Please let me know if you can offer Xiao Bai a better life than the one he has now.
He’s a handsome, friendly young dog, and would make a great pet for anyone with experience in dog guardianship.
Lastly, a nearby neighbour has ben caring for some of the strays, and even got several of them desexed and vaccinated, but she was too late for this one’s mum:
We’re not sure yet if the little one is a boy or girl, but we’ll find out when we go back tomorrow to desex the mum. If you would like to adopt this lovely pup, we will provide him or her with all necesary vaccinations, neuter op, and ID chip.
