Breast exam in Taipei? (no mammogram)

Does anyone know where one can go for a breast exam in the Taipei area? I’m specifically looking for a smaller clinic that uses ultrasound or other alternatives to mammogram. I think I remember hearing or reading about it being a more common practice for Taiwanese/Asian women who often tend to have smaller and denser breasts than Western women, and for whom a mammogram wouldn’t be a great option. Just not sure where to go. Asked my OBGYN and she had no idea, either. Not looking for hospital recommendations, thanks!

Sorry, no idea on clinics and i know you said no hospitals…but hospitals all do this this service. They will do both for you upon request.

If you hate hospitals, any clinic that deals with giving birth should certainly have the machinery and i assume probably someone with the skill sets.

Either way, all major hospitals for sure can do this.

There are smaller gynecology clinics all over. Some are quite popular and well equipped. Have you checked any near you? What neighborhood are you in?

Yeah, I’ve had a look around the neighborhood, also asked my regular OBGYN. It’s not a thing that’s offered by a standard gynecologist clinic, or so I was told. Just wondering if anyone knows of clinics that specialize in breast health.

I don’t hate hospitals, I just prefer smaller clinics. Also, no, just because a doctor specializes in childbirth doesn’t mean they also cover breast health. I’ve asked my own OBGYN as well as other gynecologist clinics in the area. Not a thing they do.

True, however many hospitals do have specialists. We have so far never had an issue finding ones that are doing this, but we arent in the north. Even if they dont they have the equipement and you can get a digital copy on cd easily to then be able to send to ither specialists, even if they dont have adequate equipment. It ha also been our experience with taiwan doctors, always go informed and get second and third opinions. The quality is quite variable. Best of luck :slight_smile:
