What’s pointless is Remainers continuing to moan over Brexit. They’re never going to get the sweetheart deal they had before and even they aren’t willing to accept the EU’s terms for rejoining so it’s time to let it go and move on.
The EU is at a “united we stand, divided we fall” moment it seems, but there is no script on how to get past the nationalist interests. And certain power players with their ideas about government/economics are dividing the individual players, or countries, themselves. An interesting historical drama that really has its roots in the 19th century, if I recall my history correctly.
It is not just Britain. Those in power would never give it up. Democracy is a rigged casino. The EU is controlled by corporates as much as Ireland, the UK and everywhere else.

Hahaha wow. Ireland’s economy has been rocketing due to it being in the EU and selling to both EU and US and enjoying favourable tax status. Something the UK used to be able to do and wants to be able to do but completely fucked up.
Remember all the huge trade deals we are waiting on…wait not Trumps trade deals which are also waiting on…but the UK trade deals that would be so easy to get after Brexit …
So the UK left the EU messed up it’s economy, lost many rights and privileges as European citizens , and still has high immigration. Disastrous.
What’s worse is Mr Brexit himself is angling to be next PM, you couldn’t make this stuff up.
Never underestimate voters’ capacity for stubbornness and denial of reality. There are still some people who support Trump.
