Bringing back goods from Japan

We’re in Osaka in Jan for a week, and have a large luggage allowance on the return leg, which I’d like to use up. Any ideas what would be worth buying in bulk from Japan?

I’m struggling to think of anything.

quality beer
quality ramen
quality rice
quality chocolate

You can stop by at any Don Quijote shops and find out what you think would be useful to bring back. KIX duty free shops lack selections, so don’t count on doing last minute shopping there though.

How about stuff with Sanrio characters?
Or Komagatake whisky - happy to take a bottle of your hands once you’re back.

Ramen is a possible. Whisky also (but i’d be dodging customs there).

Depends on how many people you travel with and how much liquor they carry.

Although the duty free allowance is 1L, you’re allowed 5L per person - just you may have to pay duty. The duty doesn’t work out to very much, and it’s 50/50 whether they even make you pay.

As I recall Uniqlo is cheapest in its home country. You could stock up on some basics.

Go to Costco. Stock on clothes, tea, flours, etc.

Electronics? Cookware snd baking goods.

I like their high quality bed covers and blankets.

Be careful with stuff like vitamins and medications. There are very strict limits. Same with alcohol unfortunately.

Not bulk, but those Japanese bidet toilet sets are cheaper in Japan.

If you’re in doubt, go to BIC camera or other stores like it. Just don’t buy the memory cards there as they are overpriced.
