I am going back to the U.S. soon. I’m on birth control and my prescription from my American doctor is expired. I’d like to bring a few months of my birth control from Taiwan back with me to the US. Does anyone know if this will be a problem at customs? Will I have to provide a script? Would they not really care, since it’s just birth control? Thanks.
I regularly bring in Costco large bottles of Ibuprofen, Aspirin, Melatonin, Vitamins, etc. I leave one bottle intact unopened and the rest go into large baggies to save space. Never had a problem. The Beagle drug dog once took a quick sniff and passed on. The intact bottles are in case I do get stopped, they can do a comparison. I did notice last week, coming back from China into Songshan that somebody got stopped for an alert from the dog. They had his bag unpacked on the floor going through stuff. He had some kind of substance, looked suspicious to me, but after a few minutes of looking and explanation, they let him pass. I really don’t think you would have a problem but I think I would cary a script, just in case. My stuff was all over the counter meds. Isn’t BC pills prescription in most areas? If not, I wouldn’t worry.
I don’t think the reverse direction would be any different.
If its OTC its not going to be a big deal. You sould be fine. I wouldn’t even bother declaring it.
