Does anyone know of a Buddhist monastery or retreat in Taiwan that offers simple paid accommodation and food? So just staying in the grounds, or close by, with no obligations beyond paying and respectfully following all conventions.
Not looking for a retreat or course of any kind.
I remember when I was little, when my mom took me to the states… there was a Buddhist monastery in Los Angeles that my mom took refuge in. No idea the cost or whatever though. They obviously only had vegan foods.
You tried looking around various buddhist orgs in Taiwan? I think the one my mom took me to way back then was run by 佛光山. They probably have a Taiwan org.
Lion head mountain in miaoli. Beautiful, scenic, quiet . room cost 1k for one night and free food three times a day.
That’s a nice place and I nice price. Maybe I’ll just live there.
