Burkina Faso grants visa privileges to ROC nationals

This is just the coolest bit of pre-election bullshit yet. Burkina Faso. Yeah, baby. I’m there…soon as I figure out where you’re at.
Burkina Faso will grant visa-waiver privileges to ROC nationals beginning Jan. 4 under an agreement inked last October, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Jan. 3.

“We feel gratified by the deepening of relations between our two countries,” said Hsu Mien-sheng, director-general of the MOFA’s Department of African Affairs.

Hsu said the agreement would be beneficial in terms of strengthening bilateral tourism, trade, academic and other exchanges.

Under the pact, holders of ROC diplomatic passports or government officials will be able to visit the West African nation for up to 90 days without applying for a visa. Multiple-entry visa fees for regular passport holders will be waived, and they will be granted landing visas free of charge for stays of between seven and 30 days.

Burkina Faso is the 124th country or region to grant visa-free or landing visa entry to ROC nationals. (SB-HZW)
 like anyone actually wants to go there??

Good for them.
This should add US$20 or 30 million to the account of President Blaise Compaoré.

“Political freedoms are severely restricted in Burkina Faso, with human rights organizations decrying numerous acts of state-sponsored violence against journalists and other politically active members of society.”

I can’t see this becoming a Taiwan tourist “must see” jaunt - Burkina Faso

I met a girl at school from Burkina Faso and she told me she is never going back if possible…same with one from Sao Tome and Principe, but then again, the students from those types of severely corrupt nations that Taiwan bribes with computers are often part of that whole system, so I can’t see why they would be complaining, especially considering their parents are embassy staff here…living in their mansion up in Tianmu.

Major coup, Upper Volta is a ‘must see’ country on any African tour.

And Ouagadougou, the capital, is a twin town of Taipei. Nice. It’s the usual, Taiwan giving a bit of money to any country who is not scared enough of the PRC to have diplomatic relations with Taiwan - and only 4 African countries do.

I love that band, especially this eighties classic.

I once knew a guy from Burkina Faso. He was a nice guy.

I met a girl once, long ago, from Burkina Faso and she couldn’t understand,at first, why people would laugh when she introduced herself. Later on, she decided to use her mother’s name, Alina.

Her first name, Vagena.
She was cute, too.

I met a Taiwanese girl a few years back who spelled her name “Virgina”. Fortunately she pronounced it “Virginia”.

Things got pretty weird in the '80s:
