Seems like the US has come to the table with an offer of heavy fuel oil for North Korean Industry and Domestic Homes in exchange for a ‘freeze’ on North Korea’s nuclear weopons program. Sound familiar? If I am not mistaken this bears a remarkable resemblance to the Clinton Administration’s policy on North Korea. A policy which hard-man tough guy BushFist claimed was ineffective and that being tough was the answer. Another sign of a crumbling of US foreign policy stance in favour of engagement. Bush the tough cowboy is beginning look a little ragged round the edges. Just a few more months…
No, big difference this time Broon Ale. We are demanding a verifiable freeze. That never occurred with Clinton and his loser side kick Carter. That is why the North Koreans were able to continue developing their program uninhibited for another 9 years.
So glad to see that you recognize North Korea is a problem. So how many European troops will you be contributing to the effort? Will Europe take the lead on dealing with this issue? No. Um. Well. Gosh. Surprise.
Haven’t you learned something from Irak? Still want to invade an other country with your fucking, people torturing troops?! How many other innocent people you want to get beheaded before guys like you understand that this way you can’t solve problems?!
This having said, I feel much better. Feel free to attack me like you always do with people who do not agree with you. I don’t care…=)
And how precisely does your post above differ from what you accuse others of doing?
Well how exactly was allowing the problem to remain “dealing with the problem?”
Second, how many were tortured by Saddam? How many by American troops? So what percentage of American troops have engaged in this? How many have been appropriately prosecuted and punished?
Third, I am not the one suggesting that we follow up with North Korea but for those that do want this course of action (so American foreign policy remains simplisticaly consistent, where are your troops, where are your initiatives?)
Finally, I would argue that we have been 80 percent successful in Iraq. We have Saddam. We have his sons. We have dealt with the problem of wmds. We have our troops out of Saudi Arabia. We have removed our aircraft carriers, aircraft and navy that we had stuck for 12 years enforcing no fly zones. Something good may come out of Iraq yet despite the insurgency and terrorist violence. The economy will grow by 35% this year, oil production is exceeding prewar levels, there is a chance for democracy of some kind, no more mass murders, no threat of war with neighboring countries, let’s see what happens. I would argue that the Americans did a damned fine thing in Iraq. Much better than appeasement and looking the other way don’t you think?
Now for the expected insult: Back to your bubble bath Mesheel. Don’t worry your pretty little head about these difficult issues. We will handle this for you. What kind of pie did you make for dinner? Lovely dress? How’re the kids. Something new with your hair?
How many innocent people in Iraq were killed or died while the fucking greedy Europeans sat on their asses at the UN and made deals with Saddam to earn easy money and made deals with saddam to keep the US and UK militaries from invading earlier?
Wow…mesheel is speakless for once…
Does this mean that you won’t respond to Tigerman’s questions or that you cannot respond?
Mesheel. YOU are the one who leapt into the attack here, NOT Fred Smith or Tigerman. So don’t complain and cry about “flaming” when you have absolutely NO fucking argument to put, apart from “The Americans (and also, I presume, the British) are fuckers.”
Come out with childish SHITE like that and damned fucking straight you’ll get angry responses.
Actually, it was under the Bush administration that North Korea’s nuclear arsenal has increased four fold. Under Clinton it was known that Nth. Korea had 2 bombs. The Nth Koreans then made a tactical error in misjudging the Clinton administration. They realized too late in the game that they would have been much better off negotiating with Clinton than Bush, but the change of administration in the US and then the consequent hardline Axis of Evil approach led the Nth Koreans to abandoning their negotiatons and kicking out the UN nuclear watch dogs. They then extracted enough plutonium from their reactor to make another 6 nuclear bombs. Thanks George!
Well, yeah your right. It was not nice of me to question the American actions in Iraq. Bush is really doing a great thing there and we are all greatful that he got rid of Saddam for us and his tons of thousands of weapons of mass destruction.
There are no fucking arguments against the war in Iraq apart from those that have been said over and over again, but that nobody seems to want to listen to.
So mesheel is going to keep quiet again for a while. All this beheading is a little too much for little mesheel
That’s because (a) they don’t make any sense, and (b) you don’t listen to any of the (much stronger) pro-war arguments anyway. There’s no point in debating with a mule.
That explains why your (current) avatar’s head is wobbling around.
Invading NKorea sounds like a good idea until you consider the political fallout. China would be very pissed if the US messed around in their backyard. If it weren’t for that I would like NKorea invaded as soon as possible, because in terms of arms-proliferation they have become more dangerous than Saddam ever was.
Right now I put my hopes on China persuading NKorea to grow up and stop playing with nukes. I think they have no interest at all to have a nuclear lunatic as their neighbour. Let’s just hope NKorea is not so desperate that it won’t even listen to its only ally (sort of) in the region.
Which reminds me of the quote of the century. Some Ethiopian politician justifying using food aid for arms purchases with “Poor countries have a right to wage war too.” :loco:
