Bush's response to Katrina/New Orleans (Part 3)

Canadian rescuers got there five days before your American Feds did.
Wrong. The hurricane hit August 29 and US Coast Guard and Navy assets were running rescue missions August 29.

Petty Officer 1st Class Steven Huerta prepares to hoist two children into a Coast Guard rescue helicopter in New Orleans August 29.

Freeper rewriting of history is interesting; too bad people know what’s been going on if they had just paid the slightest bit of attention.

These two news clips from NPR shows that on Thursday, September 1, Department of Homeland Security chief Chertoff still had no clue. (He still had no idea there were people without supplies stuck at the Convention Center)

The timeline portrays the situation as if the levee breach didn’t occur. Perhaps the response (including National Guardsmen) put in place since before the hurricane hit by the state and local officials would have been barely sufficient if the levee breach didn’t occur. But it did and what was required additionally from the feds because of that didn’t happen promptly due to an inept federal execution starting with Bush and his underlings who obviously weren’t even paying attention until it became a political liability.

I think you’ve gottena little confused following this thread. I was replying to a post about Canadians being on the ground 5 days before American rescuers.

And I was talking about the timeline in your other post.
And I was talking about the timeline in your other post.
zeugmite-
The timeline is accurate and substantiated by AP and other news agency photographic evidence. Too bad you have not looked at it prior to making your post.
Also, it has come out that the Salvation Army and Red Cross were noth refused entrance to New Orleans within 48 hours of the hurricane by city and state officials.

Pfft, you think I haven’t looked at it? You think I also don’t know history can be rewritten by cherry picking photographs and commentary? Do you take the people here to be fools? We’ve all seen what happened – all parts of the story. It was just last week! Freeper interpretations on one part of the story are superfluous in this context.

Maybe the CCP can straighten you out on the basics of propaganda.

Zegumite-
Do you?

Are you saying that the photos and captions are false?

Can you prove that?

Are you saying that the photos and captions are false?

I’m saying they are cherry picked from a larger set to “prove” a pre-determined point.

Some? Yes.

I’m saying they are cherry picked from a larger set to “prove” a pre-determined point.
But, even if they were cherry picked, they still do prove that you are wrong, no?

Explain why Chertoff has no idea about the conditions in the Convention Center on Thursday, September 1, and maybe you’ll get closer to “proving me wrong,” if that should be an important task for you.

Why don’t you just try and stick to the subject. Are the photos and timeline a lie? Is this some kind of grand conspiracy produced by shady Republicans in Hollywood?

Another Hollywood creation…Thats All Folks!

No, the photos are not lies (by showing rescue action by the limited number of workers there) and neither are the TV footages of people without help for days and the audio of Chertoff denying there was a problem at the Convention Center on Thursday, September 1. Too bad freepers only dare to comment on the first of these. Care to answer why that is?

Freeper? WTF is that?

No, the photos are not lies…
Thank you. Nice of you to admit it.

The presented timeline shows when the responses were made. This shows your premise to be be false. You then introduce an irrelevant question about Mr Chertoff. This does nothing but establish the validity of the presented timeline. Thanks for playing. T-shirts are available in the lobby. Buh-bye!

Oh? Would you like to tell me what “my premise” was? Would you also like to tell me who sent the (inadequate number of) people making those initial responses shown in the photos? Was it Blanco, et al. Or Was it no-problem-here Chertoff? Are you going to guesstifudge it? Irrelevant, eh?

You haven’t shown jack shit just by pointing to a pile of photos, yet you are so eager to dismiss the whole thing like it’s going to turn around and bite you. Now that’s pretty funny. Hey TainanCowboy, relax, this ain’t an auction.
