I think somewhat unique to Taiwan is for example instead of a guy beating on plastic buckets you’ll find buskers playing beautiful music on electronic cellos.
I’m finding a lot of buskers are not really as poor as we think they should be.
I’ve seen buskers using really good guitars (like Gibson acoustic guitars for example).
I came to the conclusion that anyone playing music in Taiwan is already independently wealthy, and are doing it because no other Taiwanese could afford to.
Who here has never given money to a busker in Taiwan?
I’d rather see buskers than those flea-ridden hug bums in Ximen.
Only you would notice that lol

Anyone know that Furriner outside mall in Tainan. No mask? No worries.
Some people appeared to be staring at me a foreigner in horror in that mall. Others didn’t even give a second glance.
Taiwan Spinning (TS) Mall
Handsome fella but not much of an audience.
Possible audience members were probably as surprised and confused as me to see a foreigner out there.
There was no audience.
But mall was crowded and Starbucks lines out the door.
What was he singing ?
English but nothing I recognized. I didn’t hang around.
i always give them 100 or 200 nt . i like their music? i dont think so. but they do something and they dont push you pay.by the way some homeless are not poor and have good education also.
He needs a bilingual sign saying you can’t get infected by throwing money at me.
