By the way this came up in my Facebook feed… Totally a coincidence…

So it’s been nine years already, has it? Time flies.

Soon it will be that long since my second deportation. Not that it matters to the US

Does it have underfloor heating?

I knew I had seen it before.

I’m poor :frowning:

No, but I had thick insulation blown on the entire underside of the floor and it stays comfortably warm in the winter.

I thought that it’s quite common in Japan to buy a home, have it demolished, and rebuilt. The only problem with buying properties in Japan is that without being a citizen there, what would be the point?

Do you not become a tax resident staying there that long?

Holy shit your house is amazing.

Just got back from a three week ski/onsen/local cuisine vacation there.

Had a business manager visa during the long stay years. According to my attorney now I just need to keep my yearly stays under 183 days to avoid taxation issues.

Why is that a problem? You can still spend a lot of your time there, regardless of your citizenship.
