I’m computer stupid, so I have no clue… Sounds like a good deal to me, though.
The computer is 18months old:
Intel Penthium 4.3 GHz
512MB Ram
80 GB Hard Drive(plenty space for me, my current relic has 8 GB…)
DVD combo (reader/writer)
17 LCD Screen
Gygabyte motherboard (onboard sound, 32 MB Video)
by this time, it should be sold already at that price!!! Just go for it , you can not do anything wrong and even buy newer parts such as a extra VGA card.
I would have asked 16.000 at least for this config.

Thanks guys. Just wanted to make sure I was not making a mistake.

Lucky he guy read the posting about "how much to pay for second hand stuff
So, he asked 36.000 and you got it for 12K… lucky you!
If you knew how crappy my computer is, you’d understand how exciting this is for me. The piece of shite I’m using now is ancient. I bought it for 3000NT about a year ago. For that price I got the monitor, mouse, keyboard, printer, speakers, and even the goddamn computer desk to go with it. The bastard still works, but it gets noisy sometimes. I have to slap it around(literally) for the noise to stop.
So…Anyone want to buy a cheap computer? I’ll give a couple hundred NT to anyone who wants to take it off my hands. Would save me the guilt of throwing it out. Sentimental value…
Seriously, it has 8 gigs of memory, and I’m sure all it needs is a new cooling fan. Can I sell that? Like 1000NT maybe? Or no.
Edit: Oh yeah… For 3000NT the shitty PC also came with a wireless system. The kind where you can get online by connecting to another pc in the house without any wires.

A small and perhaps irrelevent point. But, consider carefully what information has been stored on your hard drive . People do pick up discarded computers and then try to see if there is any information that can be restored relating to passwords, social security numbers , bank account details, confidential information. If you throw away the computer and you are concerned about what might be on the hard drive, destroy the hard drive completely. Maybe over the top, I don’t know, could just be irrational paranoia on my part.

Mick’s right. Just deleting stuff isn’t enough. Even formatting it won’t be enough. Best thing to do is stick a nail or two through it.
You really have to go that far? Nails? Damn! Jeremy at Bikefarm has these super-duper strong magnets I was hoping to borrow so I could affix them to my computer in the office. I thought if I did this it would break the computer without them knowing how and I’d get a nice shiny new one.
So that wouldn’t work, then?

Yeah, well, super-strong magnets should do the trick too. Metal case might block the effect though.

They took a hard disk to a junk jard and picked it up with one of those electromagnetic cranes for picking up cars then dropped it again. It still worked. The CPU didn’t work after they fried it with chips though.

Passeport number, banking info, sandman’s passwords, etc.
But unless your like afraid the CIA or something will be in there then that is way over the top. Format then full format again. Re-install windows or Linux. Then run a disk defrag. If any one can get it back outa that then they can get it anyway! Snoopers are lazy.
YOu know, that’s a good point. Get rid of the hard drive, but of course, for really cheap pcs a new disk drive would run about $2000 anyway, making it unlikely to be viable for a sale at such a good price. What a conundrum?!
