Hi,
Does anyone have experience in buying laptops/computers/electronic devices from Ebay?
I’m interested to buy a US$1200 lenovo laptop considering most premium laptops in Taiwan are more expensive.
Moreover, this laptop is a new model so It isn’t out yet in Taiwan.
I’m afraid during shipping it cannot go through the custom because of some kind of regulation.

You may pay 1200 for the laptop, but then you’ll have to pay around another 200 in import taxes. Might as well just shop locally.
I’d prefer to have local support for a laptop, too. Plenty of things that can go wrong.
Don’t forget shipping! That will add a lot more… not so cheap now!
Let’s see: what about the (lack of a) warranty! How would you get it repaired? Can you guarantee it’s working when you get it? Too risky to order from Ebay when Ebay is in another country.
Not worth the hassle.
What everyone else has said…
If you still want to do it, get it from a reputable dealer with an international warranty.
Check shipping, you may be better of going through a shipping service such as myus.com
You can also ask the seller to fudge around with the purchase price on the declaration as well, but don’t make it unrealistic otherwise you’re just asking for trouble.
