I’ve had a search around, but haven’t located anything that gives me a specific answer to this. I’m looking to buy a Sony ebook reader from the States, new, probably shipped by UPS (the cheapest carrier the store uses). It’ll cost me about $300 dollars in all. Am I likely to get hit by import tax, and if so, does anyone know how much it’s likely to be?
To answer my own question, it turns out someone I know apparently paid 6% import tax on a Dell computer imported from Malaysia. I presume that holds for other, similar electronic goods. So there you go.
