The coming Chinese NY will be my first Chinese NY in Taiwan. As this is one of the only vacation days during the year, everyone will be willing to travel. So my question is when do we have to start to book flight tickets? I started to look around on the web, but most travel agents or even China Airlines do not have yet the 2006 prices… So when is the best time?
It’s a little early still, but you always can make bookings with several airlines and confirm the cheapest in due time.
Think about the fact that you should actually leave before Chinese New Year and come back after. Not leave or come back during the busy days. That’s hell. Try to leave before they impose the high season prices … and go somewhere the Taiwanese/Chinese won’t

I’m interested in going to India, but can’t get price ideas so I can plan. Has anyone done this during CNY?
They mostly go to SE Asia and E Asia, so anything beyond that would do I guess.
Surely don’t go to HK and China, that’s hell, I did that once … no more
