I’m heading to Taipei tomorrow and will be staying with a family friend for 2 days, and want to take that opportunity to shop for a gift for my boyfriend back at home (overseas). Anyone have any gift suggestions and places I can visit/buy gifts from that aren’t too pricey? My budget is $NT 1500 give or take. Boyfriend’s in his late 20s if that helps. Thanks in advance!
If he’s into photography you should definitely visit the LOMO store close to Zhongxiao Dunhua MRT. I don’t have the address, but you can easily find it by strolling around in the shopping/eating area just north of Zhongxiao E. Road, between Dunhua Road and Yanji Street. Also, you can try hitting the Eslite Bookstore close to Taipei City Hall MRT.
Get him a watch:) Ximending has many watch stores.
Thanks for the ideas so far. Watch sounds good, but I’ve never seen him wear one… do you think men would start wearing a watch just because its given to them as a gift?
Any other ideas?

For NTD 1500, you’re not going to get a good timepiece. Try something else. Something that you can only get in Taiwan. Maybe some leather handcrafts made by aborigines.
