We are looking to buy a property in Taipei but was hoping someone might be able to offer a rough guide to the process.
My (taiwanese) wife and I (english) are looking to buy a flat - I am assuming we can buy jointly but typically what is the initial deposit, final payment and processing times? Are there any legal, tax, or other pitfalls I need to look out for?
Also as a foreigner we will transfer payments from overseas does this create any problems? Finally I read that transaction costs typically add 8-9% to the purchase price:
deeds costs 6%
stamp duty 0.1%
registration 0.1%
notary 0.1%
legal 1%
agents 1.5%
Is this about right?
