CACHACA for Caipirinha

Hey Forumosa,

where in Taipei can I get a bottle of Cachaca, the Brazilian sugar cane schnapps that is used for the Caipirnha cocktail? I wanted to introduce it to my gf but then I couldn’t find it at my Wellcome! :frowning: Is it existend here in Taiwan?

Bye, Sebastian

P.S.: No, I dont feel bad about the fact that 2 of my 3 first postings deal with alcohol.

So far I haven’t found any here in Taipei, there are a few bars who offer Caipirinha, but I doubt they use Cacacha. At least it does not taste like it…
Buy it at home next time and bring it over, that’s how I do it…

If you buy my ticket to Rio, I promise to bring you back a bottle.

I’ve seen it, but I can’t for the life of me remember where. One of the big up-market supermarkets, probably – either Jasons in the basement of 101, City Super in the basement of the Far Eastern Mall or the Breeze supermarket in the Breeze Mall.

Come to HKG and order it online…otherwise any ole white Rhum Agricole would make a decent substitute.

If you need a soundtrack for drinking that caipirinha, let me know. Online, I may seem like a boring, pedantic language geek, but I have a hidden side. I’m also a boring, pedantic Brazilian music geek!

theres a nice store in taipei that sells binlang, fine liquor & tobacco that also carries Cachaca.

the brand they carry is SAMBA from brazil. why settle for white rum. u can find real mint plants at the Jian Guo flower market, simple sugar is just sugar mixed into hot water. and you can freeze your water into any sort of shapes. get sloshed.

South side of Ba De Road, between Core Pacific ‘THE LIVING’ Mall(the deathstar) and the nissan dealership on the same side of the road. located next to a pharmacy. look for the 煙洋酒檳榔characters(not necessarily in that order)

lots of cool stuff packed into that dusty little place, other than binlang.

Hi!

Thanks a lot for the helpful answers. I will definetly check that out. Caipirinha doesn’t seem to be that popular here, right? It is sooo popular back home, I can get cachaca everywhere, even in the cheap discounters.

Bye, Sebastian

You can definitely get it in Macau.
