Taiwan’s the Venice of the East.

No shit. Everything in Italy is super expensive.
Andrew0409:
You’re definitely paying a bit more for the Florian name and location in xinyi. So I suspect for people who don’t care or know about what the original Florian is, the prices might not be something they consider worth it. But for those who do, it’s actually much cheaper in Taiwan and they say it’s also good.
That being said, I’ve never been Nd food and service standards go up and down as time goes on.
I’d never heard of the place before this thread.
Well, I’m going now with my wife and her sisters. I’m paying.

The little slash over the e is the wrong way round.
Andrew, could you get your better half to explain the pronunciation difference?

è - LATIN SMALL LETTER E WITH GRAVE
é - LATIN SMALL LETTER E WITH ACUTE
In some schools of phonetics, sounds are distinguished as grave or acute. This is primarily a perceptual classification, based on whether the sounds are perceived as sharp, high intensity, or as dull, low intensity. However, it can also be defined acoustically (acute sounds have a concentration of energy in the higher spectrum, versus graves which have a concentration of energy in the lower spectrum) or in terms of the articulations involved.
Acute sounds generally have high perceptual intensi...
The grave accent (`) (/ɡreɪv/ or /ɡrɑːv/) is a diacritical mark used to varying degrees in English, French, Dutch, Portuguese, Italian and
many other western European languages. It is also used in other languages using the Latin alphabet, such as Mohawk and Yoruba, and with non-Latin writing systems such as the Greek and Cyrillic alphabets and the Bopomofo or Zhuyin Fuhao semi-syllabary. It has no single meaning, but can indicate pitch, stress, or other features.

The acute accent (/əˈkjuːt/), ◌́, is a diacritic used in many modern written languages with alphabets based on the Latin, Cyrillic, and Greek scripts. For the most commonly encountered uses of the accent in the Latin and Greek alphabets, precomposed characters are available.
An early precursor of the acute accent was the apex, used in Latin inscriptions to mark long vowels.

Is there anything you don’t know?
Now, could you sort out my 2nd and 4th tones in Mandarin?

It’s more similar to the short 4th tone in Chinese.

The original is actually quite cool and historic if you care about such things. It’s the oldest physical coffee shop in the world at over 300 years old. And they’ve kept it the same with some obvious modern updates.

I’ve been searching for pronunciation of Caffè on google and it won’t give me one.
Did you go in the summer?
It’s also insanely expensive. If you went alone, to sit and have a coffee would be around 30 euros give or take.

It’s more like a question.
You go? I thought it was good, but won’t quite be charging back there. Maybe for one of the fancy coffees
