Can I renew/update my ARC at an NIA office in a different city?

Is it possible to update the information on my ARC at an NIA service centre that is not in my city?

For example, using the New Taipei City office instead of the Taipei City office.

Yes. As long as you are not a migrant worker.

If your passport not from “good” countries, they will direct you to the correct NIA office according to your place of living. (once tried to do it in Taipei City coz New Taipei office always crowded and I am not a migrant worker… My own experience in 2009)

I work in Toayuan city but now live in New Taipei City.

I would much prefer to go to Taoyuan city to change my ARC address. Is that possible? Or do I have to go to the New Taipei City NIA office?

I’ve never had an issue going to another city’s NIA. I don’t see why not.

I wonder why I have this thought that you need to go to the NIA that’s in the city your ARC address is registered to.

Blue collar migrant workers MUST go to the immigration centre of their city/county.

Other foreigners don’t have this restriction.
