Can my girlfriend and my baby go/get ARC through mine?

My girlfriend and my baby will be joining me soon here in Taipei. I have lived with my girlfriend for a long time and we have a baby now.So I was wondering if the Taiwanese government will allow her to get an ARC because of comman law. But I don’t know if the Taiwanese government accept comman law marriages. Does anyone have any information to help? Thanks.

Marry her. Problem solved!

It’s hard enough to get anything done with Taiwanese bureacrats when you have all the paperwork on hand. I can’t imagine the absolute disdian they’d have if you tried to explain common law marriage to them. “Yeah, we’re married…No, I don’t have a marriage certificate…We’re married because we’ve been living together for so long…No, I’m not making this up.”

If you are listed as the father on the birth certificate then there should be no problem bringing your baby here. As for your girlfriend, I don’t think this is possible. Given that you call her ‘girlfriend’ several times makes me think that even you don’t consider her a wife. In any case, you need some sort of government issued document which shows that you are married in order for her to join you in Taiwan. If your government recognizes common law marriages then find out if they will issue a document saying they recognize you as married. As alidarbac writes, the government here won’t do anything without a pile of documents as ‘proof’.

Nope. your Gf can not receive an ARC if you are not married.
Was in the same case, and a cohabitation or whatyever proof is not enough for Taiwan law enabeling to give an ARC.
If you want to avoid that she is here on a Tourist visa, you only got a few options:
marry her as some said, or let her subscribe for Chinese lessons…
Remember that she is not seen reliable or dependent for tax purpose here…
