How 'Pepe the Frog' went from harmless to hate symbol
The darker corners of the Internet turned a cartoon frog into a hate symbol. Here's how the Internet can take it back.
He’s a handsome dog.
Maybe this since we whine and cry about everything?
I love the tu gou idea. On the other hand, a pangolin would be even cooler.
Or an olm. But they are not endemic in Taiwan.
We don’t want to scare people off.
Little fuckin late in the game for that, bub.
Well, a cute mascot might still help.
Something a little more patriotic?
Given that the forum is used heavily by furrieners, that image might be taken to be on the racist side than it’s current meaning in Asia. iJS
or on a scooter.

If they took it that way, they’d be wrong. There’s nothing racist about Pepe. The Honkers are smart enough to see that. The ROC flag, I’d think, may be slightly more controversial.
