If they took it that way, they’d be wrong. There’s nothing racist about Pepe. The Honkers are smart enough to see that. The ROC flag, I’d think, may be slightly more controversial.

Why not just find a mascot that just has no drama/questions surrounding it to begin with? Something bland and cute.
The so-called alt-right association is the result of a smear campaign by certain bad actors in the media. The ADL got duped, pure and simple. When you give in to the sleaze mongers, the terrorists win.

It doesn’t when the drama was completely manufactured. The Hong Kongers haven’t had any problem using it.
That kind of mascot would also be an excellent choice.
