Can you teach English without a degree?

I am a New Zealander wishing to teach English to children in Taiwan. Is it possible to get work if you do not have a degree? I am well educated and have completed many short courses in New Zealand including Journalism, Marketing and Public Relations. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You have to have a degree if you wish to work legally (with a working visa). It is common knowledge that many people here do not work legally, but stay here on student or even visitor visas, and teach on the side. Doing this one runs the risk of deportation, and one also does not get the benefits of an Alien Residence Certificate and Health Insurance that legal work will get you.
