Canada`s is pretty useless too as people familiar with the William Samson case decades ago could attest to.

Canadian officials visited William several times in Riyadh. He regarded them with intense disdain. He thought they were clueless and ineffective. https://www.thestar.com/news/insight/2012/04/01/william_sampson_dies_nine_years_after_release_from_saudi_prison.html

Jesus Christ dude.
I don’t know how I never heard about this.

Absolutely not.

I put myself in my own light. And it’s fantastic.

Okay, I googled that phrase and this was on the 2nd row of images…I I guess I’m on the right dancefloor here.

I don’t give a flying fig what anyone from anywhere does. I am judged by my own actions, and by no judge more critical than myself.

If I cared what Canadians do/did/will do, I’d have to relinquish my passport and citizenship just on the embarrassment some of my countryfolk’s trollish schadenfreude herein would cause me. If I cared.

Alas nosiree
I am summarily judged
Yes you too shall be.

Embassies don’t help. From what I understand, it’s up to your friends still in country to help you out with tuck and extra food. No grapes if you are French as you might make wine and bring enough for him/her to share with his/her cellies.

You can visit once a week.

Some Canadian samaritans, I forget whom, would visit Incarceradians during major western holidays.

Other than that, go to work every day, make your bags, try and feel some of the sun’s rays on your face and count off another day.

We have some nuns and priests in Taiwan that visit the incarcerated compatriots in Taiwan to give mental support. That’s about it.

It’s all about the individual.

I love the diversity – the rainbow— of all Canadians regardless of if they are PC or not. I for one - am not. Professor Peterson is a national gem: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jordan_Peterson

Proud that he is native, rural Albertan.

Super interesting that he was mentored by the Notley family (specifically the mother of the current socialist premier).

If I read all the Taiwan News articles right, Ryan was the supplier, Oz/Brent buyers. Then there’s the story about Ryan’s multiple scooters and how he used them.

So, why is Ryan withdrawing money to give to the other two? The money would flow the other way. Hmmm, armchair detective here.

I figure we know nothing at this point. Least of all, motive. To do what they did over such a small amount of money (relative to the potential punishment) makes little-to-no sense. There’s more happening here, there has to be.

Drowning? Blackmail?

That is why they came with Ryan as the biggest supplier in Northern Taiwan, the others competing for that position… which also is hard to believe and makes no sense. Along with the trained dog story.

But there is so much nonsense and so much noise we do not honestly know what to think.

I can’t believe it’s already been two years since I first saw that video with the SJW loonies and him. Little did they know that their actions would skyrocket his popularity and wake up people in the process.

Regarding this case, after the suspect is flown back and the paparazzi get their footage, will this vanish from the Taiwan news?
If guilty, will one of them do a deal and rat the other one or two out?

Coverage of other drug busts seems to vanish after the initial busts. With all the extraordinary elements of this case, it could have a little more longevity in the press. Ratting the others? Oh yeah, if the cops are any good, they will divide and conquer.

And expect some ‘graphic’ coverage from Next media on TV.

It has already been gone a while from TV news. For several days in fact. And now with their focus on a couple of local killings -last one the body was held 3 months in a freezer- well, as I foretold, it will go away while the real culprits scramble.

This is a very sad event indeed for so many . I picture the husband and his wife both now deceased and one dog probably as well. Sad for those who did the crime too because obviously they should not have and they will suffer for it too.

I have tried to not focus on this, keep coming back like watching a train wreck though.

But I am going to focus on happier threads.

Things like this are bad for everyone’s psyche

One would expect his family to stand up for him.

What would happen to him if he made it to Israel
Would he just walk free or be out of jail on permanent probation ? Or would he be tried even ?

I don’t think Taiwan will sentence him to death assuming he is guilty

They may likely consider what the penalty may be in a Canadian court as the victim was Canadian And quite possibly be open to him serving his time in a Canadian jail in due course .

Taiwan doesn’t want to be seen as some 13th century champion of the death penalty as even on Taiwan it has largely not been used except in very heinous crimes

Not saying this was not heinous this one

Taiwan won’t want a big stink on this case internationally

And may as I said take into consideration what a Canadian court may sentence him to if they find him guilty

Note that the USA still has the death penalty but rarely actually carry them out. Not for decades even for each individual case
