I was just answering the question of what kinds of news sources would put it on his radar about now…
Canadian-made A220 aircraft in the news: AirAsia from Malaysia has ordered a heaping pile of them, apparently the largest order on record. Big smiles all around in the report below.
Having flown on one of these puppies (set up with a 2-3 economy configuration) I can say from a passenger perspective that this aircraft is an absolute delight.
From Canada’s perspective, it also furthers the goal of diversifying manufacturing and trade away from a certain nutcase neighbour, and to work more closely in this case with members of ASEAN. This news comes at a time when Honda has cancelled some EV investment in Canada, which will hurt workers in Ontario.
