Sources told The Telegraph that a desire for strong cannabis known as “Cali weed” is also driving the increase in smuggling. The Cali weed, originally bred in California where it’s legal, has been cultivated in Canada by Chinese triads.
On the street corners of Brussels, Paris, London and Berlin, dealers are actively marketing “Cali-weed” to their customers on encrypted messaging apps such as Telegram or Signal, said Robert Patrancus, a criminal investigator from the EU Drugs Agency.

It’s interesting that the CBC in its articles about don’t mention she is of Chinese background when others do.
My money is on she’s spying for China.

So much Chinese interference in BC as per the commission report, I’d expect thousands of such espionage cases…this is just scratching the surface albeit in more international settings. And the low caliber governance, acknowledged by CSIS at the subnational level, makes foreign penetration easy. Too many dumb politicos, not just in Ottawa but especially provincially.

The CBC has a new report on this case—they figured out who the suspect is. She’s in her 30s, has an impressive resume, and . . . was involved in some fraud in Canada, applying for a coveted federal position with two slightly different names, apparently to increase her chances. Apparently this fraud case, upheld by the courts, was not enough to stop her from getting clearance to hang out in NATO headquarters as an intern. Her dodgy behavior there led to suspicions and finally to a raid—checking her computer(s) and device(s)—and to her now being held in custody.
