This happened before, when I first ‘came back’ after a long time away from the site. I never could open some PMs that I know were sent to me.
Yesterday it started again with a PM I know was sent by a mod, and today I see more PMs piling up that I can’t even see, so I don’t know who they’re from. Just the indicator that tells me they’re there.
I tried deleting old ones. Doesn’t work.
Anyone know what else to do?
In the meantime, whoever sent me something, if it’s important, please send me an email or via FB. Thanks!
Normally it means your inbox is full, but you already tried deleting old ones. Hmm. How full does it say your inbox is? At the top, if it still says you have messages on hold, then you just need to delete even more. Also consider clearing old messages from your outbox, sent and saved folders. Just a thought – no idea if it will help.
Am I the only one who suspects that posters who complain about not being able to get all their PMs are actually just cleverly bragging about how many personal messages they get?
On an unrelated note, does anyone know why Facebook doesn’t allow me to have more than five thousand friends? Should I go for Google+? :neutral:
I must have said something in the past few days to offend someone hence the PMs, because normally I don’t get more than 1 per week, maybe not even that. Unless I initiate a conversation and they’re polite to write back. Maybe that’s why I’m so clumsy with the inbox, no practice.
I don’t mind bragging how many personal messages I don’t get
Release on hold messages? I just tried that. Nothing happened.
The inbox is 95% full. Technically that should be enough, right?
I know, I know, I should delete more. But I’m sentimental about some of these messages. Plus, some of them I could blackmail certain posters with. You of all people should know that.

Not if there’s quite a backlog of new messages, no. Try to get that down to between 0 and 80%. 80-90 might do, but then it will be full again soon. No need to keep all that old stuff.

I had to get under 70% full to get all the messages. They don’t trickle in, you have to make space for all of them at once, apparently.
Finally the (0 new messages) at the top of the page. It feels good. Like after a spring cleaning

Even more embarrassing… almost none of those messages on hold were for me personally, just group PMs for joining women’s forum. I’m nowhere near as popular as I thought. Something to live with.
But on a less egocentric note, going through those old messages I saw a bunch of familiar names. Anyone know what happened to ran the man, for example? Or bobepine? Duck farm boy? Especially ran the man, as he was quite troubled. I hope he’s ok. He used to perform, right? Has anyone seen him lately?
