Car with driver

I need to rent a car with driver for one day - next Saturday, in order to take some friends down the east coast, and hopefully show them some nice scenery on the way.

Does anyone have some good tips?

it’s a horrid stretch of road that i would never willingly subject myself to driving again.

that being said, it is awesome for anyone not saddled behind the wheel. you might consider a bus?

mr He, Keep me posted on this one, as I need the same to go to CKS on Friday 3rd of June to pick up my cats & to bring them to Taipei for their 21 day Quarantine period.

A driver with a kind of little Van would be nice…
Looking forward to see suggestions

Huh? I feel alot safer there than driving down any city street. The drive is fantastic as Mr. He well knows. He’s just looking for a nicer set of wheels and a driver so he can point out the sights.

Enjoy your trip Mr. He

I don’t want to impede on this post… but if I can ask a question:

Would everyone then recommend taking a bus instead of the train to Hualien from Taipei?

maybe i should clarify,

the trip from taipei to ilan, only a masochist could enjoy. passing on blind corners, in both directions … although the new road should help.

the road itself isn’t so bad going to hualien, but the people on it make for a horrible drive. gravel trucks, buses and cars - no one willing to do anything less than mach 4.

i guess it’s subjective, and some people may enjoy driving that way. my seven years are obviously not enuf in this respect

I need a nice car with driver - not bad advice.

If you know a good limo service, then let me know - thanks.

Grand Hyatt knows for sure to provide you a Mercedes SL serie with a driver.
Was great luxury when arriving here.
Price from CKS to GH was 2000. Gives you an idea…

I need rather a litle SUV to transport the cats…

Hi

If you don’t mind a VW Van, I had a guy with a car for 4 days. He was very helpful with my brother (who is in a wheelchair).

Name is Tsai Quan Ming…蔡觀明. e-mail is ru200@ms57.hinet.net or cell phone is 0910-524176. He speaks only chinese and taiwanese (we did not test his english since we all spoke chinese). He is a very careful driver and is pretty good with roads, always early, never late. He will get there early and wait for you. He’s a delivery guy for a clothing vendor. Drives on the side to make some extra money. He’s a good guy, doesn’t play tricks or try to take you. Treat him well, he treated us very well for 4 days driving around Taipei and to Douliu and back.

Let him know that some one named Lee from San Francisco recommended him.

You could make an enquiry at this limo service, I always use them when I need to go to CKS airport (cheaper than a taxi): 02-2531 3600 (Chinese speaking only)

My wife’s company has cars and drivers available, which we have used maybe a half dozen times going to and from CKS airport. Most of their drivers don’t speak much English, but they’ve all been very nice and professional. As for the car, I believe they showed up in a nice, new Volvo with clean leather interior (different cars) every time. From near Song Shan airport to CKS is NT$900.

Send me a PM if you want contact info.
