Has anyone purchased low pile rugs from Ikea? How do they hold up? Do they shed?

I’ve seen a few Persian carpet places on Zhongshan Sec. 6 in Tianmu, but that’s not what I’m looking for.

Looking for 6’x8’ or even 8’x10’ minimal pattern, thick but low pile, no shed rugs. Any advice on where else I can look? Numbers and addresses would be great!

Just another option to consider is Hola, near the Neihu Costco. I’ve not examined the quality, though.

Seen a couple in Wanglong. I am also interested -with this col, anything helps- I’ll keep you posted if I find anything interesting.

This site has a good selection. Area pieces can probably have the edges bound.

Update: I went down to Joint Family with measurements and looked through some pieces they had. Was able to get a hallway runner made (very generic color and style), and pick out two big rugs (one the largest size they had 10x13 or something), and anti slip mats. They were what I was looking for: low pile, minimal shed, simple patterns. I ran my super suction Dyson over them and very minimal fluff was sucked up. They have lots of different sized rugs on sale as well. Huge showroom, two storefronts. You can check them out, they’re across from McDonald’s by the Tong Hua night market. Open at 9 AM. I dealt with Ms Huang, nice lady. She was able to guarantee me delivery within a week.

Super tacky hi-gloss shag pile is all the rage these days. Don’t waste your time on that fake Persian nonsense. Just have a blast losing cookie crumbs for ever into your shag.

Oh, you should have seen the ones in India. Were it not for my traveling companion, I’d still be up to my eyeballs in debt from those beauties. Lovely designs, lightweight. Machine washable, too, they said.
