‘Advancing the principles of free enterprise and limited government’ is the declared mission of the Washington DC based Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI), launched in 1984 and claiming ‘the largest free-market environmental policy program in Washington’. However, according to PR Watch, CEI in reality is ‘a well-funded front for corporations’ that attacks environmental, health and safety regulations.
(Washington, D.C. March 15, 2001) - The nonprofit Clean Air Trust today awarded its clean air “Villain of the Month” award for March to Myron Ebell, Director of Global Warming and International Environmental Policy for the reactionary Competitive Enterprise Institute and chairman of the radical anti-clean air “Cooler Heads Coalition.”
Ebell earned this dubious distinction by leading a ferocious lobbying charge to persuade President Bush to reverse his campaign pledge to control electric utility emissions of carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas linked to global warming.

Climate Scientist To CEI: Stop Misrepresenting My Research
…These television ads are a deliberate effort to confuse and mislead the public about the global warming debate. They are selectively using only parts of my previous research to support their claims. They are not telling the entire story to the public.

Maybe the makers of the advertisements learned from Michael Moore? Do you have any problem with Michael Moore’s methodology?
So far, not a single comment on Toe Tag’s post based on actual content … just weak attempts to pretend that the phrase “whore” when used to refer to lobbying instruments is a novelty.
