I bet going through the church would be a great way to make connections and find a job. I do not recommend you go straight away to a public school.
I’ve been told they will help me look but it depends on the locality I’m in. The church also has a list of people that I can live with if I need to. That will be helpful while I’m looking for a job.
Do you recommend waiting until I have more experience before seeking a public school job? As long as I can get paid around 65k twd, I wouldn’t turn down a job that offers me more experience.
You could easily make $60,000 a month with a pretty good work/life balance. If you want more than that your personal life will likely suffer.
The public schools here expect you to be a fully functional teacher from day one. Your first year you will be dealing with a lot of culture shock so you don’t need a lot of demanding coworkers wondering why you don’t teach the way they expect.
A year or two of buxiban work will be much easier and your will learn how things go around here. By that time you could go into the public schools with more confidence and competence. Or stay in the private sector and possibly make more money.
