Change of Law to allow foreigners who need to attend court calls to remain in Taiwan

Hello everyone, I bring good news to all civil rights advocates, foreigners living in Taiwan and society in general. There has been a change of Law at the beginning of this year that will force Taiwan´s Immigration Agency to give immigration permits to remain in Taiwan for up to 6 renewable months to foreigners who need to attend court proceedings, court calls, etc… If the immigration agency would fail to provide such permits, lawsuits can now been raised against these type of unfair decisions that up to the beginning of this year were been committed despite being a human rights violation (blocking legal venues).
This change of Law has been made possible by the relentless legal work made by Mr. Ignacio Pena (the “Spanish Surfer” who got stubbed at a Kentin beach while bravely fighting 4 violent criminals who were “looking for trouble” and who later bravely fought them as well in the courts against all odds and against a system that placed many barriers to foreigners trying to obtain Justice in Taiwan; after Mr. Ignacio Pena sent these 4 into prison he did not stop there and he kept fighting to change the legal loophole that was leaving foreigners in Taiwan opened to legal jeopardy for the human right violation at issue), Taiwan´s Human Rights Commission and those in the Taiwan´s Ministry of Foreign Affairs who were morally decent and brave as to side with the right side of history.
You can learn more about this change of Law in the documents made in Chinese that can be accessed at the following link: https://1drv.ms/b/s!ApSFAongETvDn1TO2MFdMDxuAFjt?e=vennXN

Hi @Oops, thanks for sharing this information.

Do you have a link to a government website (for those who don’t want to download a mystery document)?

No, the outcome of the final decision was done on mid last February and so far nothing has been posted on the immigration website.

It seems that they not always post all changes.
