whoops, been caught out on the old bankbook not updated fiasco (need to feed bankbook into ATM every 25 transactions, but my bankbook is full up). anyhoo…if one was to cash travellers cheques to tide one over till mOnday…without going to the airport; where can I go…Sogo?, Hyatt Hotel?

i used to change money at places selling GOLD jewelry in downtown taipei. donno if they still do that tho.
you MAY just have to take that roundtrip bus ride out to the airport. and better call first to make sure they are open?
otherwise find creative ways to live on 200nt for the weekend or HIT UP UR BUDS.

Try big department stores. I cashed travelers’ cheques and changed money at the service counter of the Shinkong Mitsukoshi department store (in my case, the one opposite Taibei Main Station.)
