We were certainly around.
A lot of Aussies in SE Asia, because so close. In rest of Asia, Africa, and Europe the ratio of Americans, Canadians, and Australians was about 1:1:1.
America is much bigger (population and variety wise), so more to explore at home, plus I imagine there were more in Latin America.
Aussies because a lot of them went to see outside and tended to travel for longer, having made the extra effort. A lot went first to UK and spent years drifting back.
