Charlie Kirk shot and killed at Utah event, suspect caught

Is it ignorant of me to assume you only read the first sentence of my explanation as to why your parroting of Kirk’s dumb claim is…dumb?

Truly a classic presentation of the populist junk food diet.

What’s your opinion of the claim that only white people can be racist?

Wow weird pivot but…

Yeah that is obviously not true? What a puerile take. Yes, I know some weirdos on the far end of the left spectrum hold this view. Quite the minority. Usually they have little to no international experience or international friends - otherwise their stance would quickly feel foolish and they would discard it.

Obviously, there are some S-tier cucks on the left as well.

It’s not that uncommon a view on the left. Imagine trying to shoehorn the belief that only whites can be racist into the definiton of racism as “discrimination based on skin color.” Even harder than trying to shoehorn the belief that it’s racist to wonder if an airline has cut corners in minority hiring into that definition.

The twin themes “only whites can be racist” and “all whites are racist” appeared at the University of Delaware in 2007. The “sustainability” dorm-based indoctrination program at UD offered this aperҫu:

A RACIST: A racist is one who is both privileged and socialized on the basis of race by a white supremacist (racist) system. ‘The term applies to all white people (i.e., people of European descent) living in the United States, regardless of class, gender, religion, culture or sexuality. By this definition, people of color cannot be racists, because as peoples within the U.S. system, they do not have the power to back up their prejudices, hostilities, or acts of discrimination….’

Sorry, you have no idea what you are talking about. It actually is a very uncommon view. Go talk to an LLM about it, because I am not wasting any more time on this if you really think your statement above is reality.

Your homework for this week is to go meet some more lefties, as it has become quite obvious you have fallen for the straw-manned version of the left put out by Fox and affiliates. :joy:

Have fun cherry-picking fringe shit if not. That cognitive dissonance needs coddling, after all!

I’ve heard it often enough.

Many people feel the same about female pilots. And with publicly stated DEI targets like below, who could blame them.

Certainly the gender and post-colonial studies types teach definitions of racism where it is impossible to be racist against people of color, for reasons of systemic power imbalances

Sure, and this subset of the Left is much smaller than what it is being purported to be.

Can anyone find a politician saying that non-white people can’t be racist? Nope, I don’t think so.

Whereas on the Right, bigoted and extremist rhetoric is found prolifically, from the thought leaders, to the politicians, to the president.

Obama and Biden surely never said that only white people could be racist. I don’t see anyone on the Left saying this, especially lately, except the extreme edge of the spectrum (cucked as usual).

I don’t know if any of you noticed, but the Left is much more focused on the open class warfare going on right now, as they should be.

Can we guess which part of the Left Fox News and their associates focus on almost exclusively, when caricaturizing them to their base?

They both certainly proved it.

In absolute numbers, ok I’ll concede that without asking how you came to the conclusion

But, they are louder and more influential than their numbers suggest. It is true that academia and especially the Ivy League have been pumping out these graduates for decades. And the graduates go into academia or the media or the government…

I understand your sentiment, and thankfully that wave has long since crested.

Again, let me know when you find a Lefty politician (especially mainstream) that is saying this. Perhaps something from years ago can be dredged up, but now, nah.

They are going back to their most successful approach - focusing on class issues. Trump and his goons make it easy to do this, as they are committing blatant class war against just about everyone not already Scrooge McDucking it into their money piles.

Hopefully, anyways. I don’t think anyone has changed their minds, they’re just less emboldened in the current US climate to say what they want…

Ok

I mostly tuned out of the news this summer, it was great

Well that’s nice. Easier to do when you aren’t American and/or not heavily impacted by the thug in chief’s behavior. Enviable, really.

But yeah, that also explains why you might have missed the shift in a better direction from the Left regarding their focus. Definitely not ideal still, but they are a hell of a lot better to support over Trumpers, who just continue to spread their cheeks for their increasingly fascist god king and his band of sycophantic oligarchs.

No the racist part is where you use those concerns to justify judging someone based on their race. It’s really very simple.

We are stuck in JFK boomer samsara: conspiracy as titillation. Paralysed by the details.

Mass media hyperreality as an informational & psychological weapon is older than we like to think.

Is fox news advocating for a sainthood for Kirk?

Would it be sexist to be concerned that female combat soldiers were held to lower combat fitness standards because so many were failing?

“ Following a three-year review, the Army has scrapped plans to use the same physical fitness test for all soldiers, choosing instead to have some reduced standards to allow women and older soldiers to pass, the service announced Wednesday.

The decision follows a RAND-led study that found men were more easily passing the new, more difficult Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT) compared to women and older soldiers, who were “failing at noticeably higher rates.””
