I’d like to hire a Charter Fishing boat for some deep sea fishing this summer. Is this possible (or even legal) in Taiwan? Can anyone recommend any companies (will travel!) that will take me and a few friends out fishing for a few hours?

I know they do it off Lanyu especially during the flying fish season. I can try to russle up a contact later if you want.

His rates used to be about 5000 per half day. For fishing, he is limited to taking four people out, due to licensing restrictions. For diving, he could take about 15-20 people.
I have know him for many years and can vouch for his safety record. I have used him as the safety boat for sea kayaking. The coast off of the east coast is the second deepest trench in the world, so cha bu duo won’t cut it.
