Cheap / used / junk bicycles?

What I need to find is a CHEAP, steel road bike frame or junk bike with decent frame; my price cap for the whole project is going to be around $3000-6000 (if I can find a frame for under $3000, it’d be ideal).

I’ve looked through a lot of older posts recommending bike shops around Taipei, but most are high-to-mid range retailers of new bikes. I’m an avid and experienced cyclist (~100km per day or so), but I’m a mechanic and minimalist, ride single speed, have tools and grease-stained hands, etc - so I need no carbon fiber frames or other $100,000 parts…

Are there any second hand shops or junk markets about that might have something like this?

"< hahahaha. Sure did. Not that being a librarian with piles of student debt really helps, in any case. Really though, I prefer not to care about theft or accidents, and enjoy working on stuff anyway. I don’t think I’ve ever spend more than $100 USD on a bike, though I’ve been commuting on one year-round (mostly in Minnesota, where winters are harsh) for 10 years or so.

You can get brand new road bikes that are decent for 3000nt not only the frame but the whole bike and brand new at the bike store/maintenance shop in the middle of NTU Taida campus.

Also the big career 4 next to qiqhand mrt in xindian dist has a big bike selection ranging from 1800 and up

if you want to splurge i was at costco the other day and they had some made in canada bikes good quality stuff for 6000

Oh… awesome, thanks. A friend actually said something about a shop near Tai-da, I think I’ll go hunting - it’s nice and close by.
