Cheap ways to make international calls?

I’m looking for ways to make international calls from Taiwan to the US. I was wondering if anyone knew any cheap options other than dialing internationally from a phone.

I used to make international calls from US to Taiwan via phone cards, but I haven’t seen phone cards in Taiwan. Thanks.

Pincity.com has a local access number in Taipei. Otherwise, Skype works pretty well too. Those two are what I use.

Skype is awesome. You can call anywhere in the world (cell phones or landlines) for about $10 USD per month. And it’s unlimited. Or if the other person has Skype as well, you can call them for free. I use Skype to call friends back home in the US all the time, and it works great - you hear each other very clearly, and never any dropped calls or anything.

Go over to Snadman’s house and place your call from there.

Prescient! We must be long lost sisters because I was just about to suggest stealing the chief’s phone and using that.

My old lady keys in this long, long string of numbers when she does an international call, then when it answers, you have to key in the hash key and the number and the hash key again, and then you get connected. Apparently its well cheap.

These kids, you gotta spoon feed em every little step of the way, man…

Hahaha… thanks for the suggestions

That’s right, I forgot about Skype >_< I’ll check into the other options.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record (as the subject of VoIP calling has been beat to death in a couple other threads), MagicJack: unlimited calling to/from any US number to/from anywhere in the world for US$20/year.
