Chez Jimmy is behind the new Warner Village Cinema in Tianmu. We went there on Saturday for lunch. They seem to try to maintain an air of faux French sophistication, but most customers were dressed pretty casual. The lunch set menu was 520NT including soup, salad, coffee, and desert. They had a chef’s recommendation of escargot for 680NT, but I can never trust any restaurant to keep the snails off the plate. I had the filet mignon with mushroom sauce and found it to be very good. One annoying thing is that they seemed to be playing the same Carpenter’s song over and over. They asked me what I wanted for dessert and I said, “Sunshine lollipops and rainbows lemon drops”.
Chez Jimmy is divided into two buildings. There’s a walkway in the back that connects the two. As far as I can tell they are the same. You can see the waiters and waitresses walking back and forth between them. The only difference is that one has a salad bar.
It’s a little pricey, but not bad if you’re looking for a nice meal before you see the movie.
