I read about it on a website about children’s activities… but when I went to the website, it’s called the Taiwan English and Art Museum… seems to be a place where people try to practice their english and less of an art museum for kids? I’m trying to decide between this place and the Museum of Fine Arts in Taichung … or both is an option too i guess.
While in Taichung, we also want to go DaKeng for a hot spring, mild hiking and hopefully to see some monkeys. Any suggestions on where to go for a quick hot spring dip and where would be the best place to spot monkeys?
Taichung has a great Art Museum (free!) as well that is very child friendly with a kid play area with games and toys and a very large reading room with a mix of thousands of chinese and english childrens books.
Depending on the weather, there is also plenty of trees and paths surrounding the museum to explore…
I’ve not been but based on a description I read I wasn’t so sure that it was very exciting for gradeschool and preschool kids. However the National Art Museum is a sure winner for kids 10 and under. It has a fine library, 2 large creative art and play rooms and plenty of landscaped park surrounding the buildings for more exploration and creek strolls. It’s a sure hit for younger kids.
