Need to find a place in Taipei for this coming Friday to hang out for some live music, preferably smooth jazz or funk or better yet, saxophone music. Thanks!

Sappho really has something different going on and a very good vibe.
Wicked! Thanks for the heads up.
Next time I have to venture to the sinkhole, a.k.a. Taipei, I will insist upon such a venue.
Though, if DD is lurking outside, I may have to thumb wrestle him unto submitting to some fucking MILES DAVIS!
Sappho has a variety of good music, but the basement bar smells like a sewer and has been like that for a couple years. What is up with that? I can hardly stomach the smell which keeps me from going very often. Doesn’t the management notice?
Thanks for the tip! Will try there if nothing else, and definitely, I’ll avoid going down to the basement
Actually, there are quite a few places, and different days of the week. I know of at least 8 or 9, on different nights, but I’m just too lazy right now to list them. Google will pop up some as well as some of the sites that show nightlife and events in Taiwan.
You are too lazy to list them?
You could have listed them with less effort than it took to write the sentenced that followed.
What a dick!
Is Blue Note still open? Riverside near the Taipower building regularly has jazz. I like the vibe at Sappho better. I’ve never noticed a smell at Sappho. If you have a couple of their martinis, I don’t think you will either.

LOL… well beggars can’t be choosers, so I’ll take what I can get. I’ve tried to google them but most of them list somewhat similar to what I am looking for but not with a chill/relax vibe, but more of upbeat, even dancing themes even with jazz, etc (I’m guessing acid jazz). I’m looking for smooth jazz and blues and not overly expensive like it’s some gentleman’s club. Thanks for the help and thanks for the lookin out, Deuce Dropper
