Its OK, but nothing to write home about. Depends more on which (old or new) aircraft you get.
I would say that it is better than EVA’s business class, and at least equal to Northwest’s. I would fly it again.
Flew it to Bali once. Not bad.
I used to fly China air bus class to Vietnam often and it was ok but not as good as EVA bus class.
Panda, I also flew the China Air business class to Vietnam, but those are totally different planes than the long haul ones used to go to the USA. The business class to Vietnam is a joke compared to the real China Air business class and is more like Eva Economy Deluxe, but Eva’s Business class sucks compared to China Air’s due to the seat size, incline and space between the seats, not to mention the price.
Panda, you have to compare flights of the same distance and shouldn’t compare Asian flights with intercontinental flights.
What about price - is it worth it ? Compared to say EVA, or in terms of the mark-up on Economy.

If you get a good deal consider it. Otherwise, save your money and never fly business class unless you are loaded. I do alright, but it still hurts to pay for business class. Finally if you are asking is China Air Business worth it over Eva Economy Deluxe, again that depends on if you can afford China Air business. If you get a good deal and can afford it, go for it, otherwise stick with Eva Economy deluxe. It is better than Eva Economy, but not business.
Give me China Airlines Biz class over EVA’s Biz class any day of the week. The quality at EVA’s gone downhill in recent years. I just got back from the US on an EVA flight - talk about serious training problems. The food on EVA sucks as does the service. My vote goes to China Airlines.
